Scholarship Application


    1. The Scholarship(s) are open to the children (both natural and legally adopted) and
    grandchildren of members of the Propeller Club of Baltimore who have been in good standing for four (4) years prior to the date of application.  Members must also remain in good standing for the duration of the scholarship.

    2. The Scholarship(s) are granted to graduating high school seniors and/or students
    (undergraduate/graduate) who are currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university. It will remain in effect for a maximum of four (4) consecutive years as long as the recipient is a member in good standing of the institution. Time off during the (4) years associated with a hardship or other event such as going on to Grad school, may be considered for continued scholarship support upon request, provided that time does not exceed (18) months. The transfer of the scholarship to another college or university is not guaranteed, however, exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis. 

    3. Applicants must have demonstrated academic ability as certified by their most recent high school or college transcript available at the time of application. The applicant must also have completed the Scholastic Aptitude Test and/or ACT and enclose the results.


    The club will determine the number and amount of (scholarship) awards based on merit, none to be less than $1,500.00. The “WARREN MILLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARD”, will be $3,000.00, and awarded to one candidate/applicant.

    Funding of the scholarships will be at the sole discretion of the Board.  Payment will be made at the beginning of the first semester to the institution the recipient is attending in his/her name.

    A committee of “disinterested” members of the Club Board will be appointed to review the applications and select the winner(s). The selection committee will also re-certify annually the previous recipients of scholarships. 

    The application must be completed in full and shall also include one (1) “500-word essay”. Applicants will be expected to include one (1) letter of recommendation from their current school and one (1) personal or employer letter of recommendation. Applicants are encouraged to provide any other information they may believe to be helpful to the selection committee. The application will be due by March 31, 2021.

    Students can apply for the Propeller Club Scholarship offered to members children and grandchildren and the Transportation Scholarship if they meet the criteria. One scholarship will be awarded per student, the award will not exceed four years.
